I understand there is a need for generic St. Olaf tabards. First question: what style are these tabards? I kinda-sorta remember them as a single piece of cloth, hole in the center for the head kind.
Basically what I need to know is:
Are they thigh length or knee length?
Are the crosses on the front and back or just front?
How big are the crosses?
Is there any kind of edging, if so, is it white?
Are there shoulder flaps, if so, what size/shape?
Does anyone specifically need one?

So far I have made them tunics rather than tabards. But that is because Gunnar and I wear tunics. Other people could use a tabard better with their armor. I think some of each would be nice. Loaner ones can be tabards for sure. They are usually just T-tunics (or the basic set in sleeve type when I'm saving fabric). I think tunics should have the flaps too so we can put the patches on them that would be on the sleeves. I don't think the shape would matter much but I prefer the nice large flaps with the rounded corners rather than tiny little flaps.

I can send you some patches.

The batch I made as quick and loaner ones were shorter but the good "keepers" I make knee length or almost knee length.

The cross is on the front and the back. I measured the ones on Gunnar's tunic and they are about 7.5 inches tall.

I use white bias tape for the trim around the neck, arms, and bottom.

The original idea was to have the standard Trimarian fighting tunic with white trim with the cross in the place of the triskle. That way they mostly look like the same army but maybe a unit within the army.

I'm sure single will be fine. I know double holds up better but in May - Sept....BLAHHHHH. Ok sometimes March - December for that matter. Wink

They also aren't used as often since they are mostly or war so they last a little longer.
