Trident was a lot of fun. They held a Pas de Armes for the lyst. The rounds were fought to 3 telling blows, instead of one killing blow. This is not my favorite format, but I enjoyed it none the less. Bryndis could not make it, so as Queens Champion, I fought for Her Majesty. I asked Her Majesty for Her permission to allow my opponents lady to pick the weapon style we would fight. The marshal in charge of the lyst asked that we not use two weapons but did not forbid it. During my bye fight I did use sword and ax. I jokingly let the marshal know that his opinion of two weapon fighting was duly noted. The final round was to be fought to 5 telling blows. My opponents lady chose Great sword as the style. This is not a good style for me as I generally use a two-handed ax in a great weapon lyst. I lost with the count being 5 blows to 4. Faust fought well. These off style tournaments can be harder on a new fighter.
Faust and I left there to go to Castlemere 12th night. We ended up getting there late, but Bryndis had prepared plates for us so we had plenty to eat. The food was delicious and the gift exchange was a lot of fun.
I was glad to finaly make it to an event. I just wish it had not been two in one day. _________________ "The only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." Edmund Burke |
