I day tripped St Val's this past weekend. The weather started out pretty lousy, and the dogs had an issue, so I was later getting out there than I had planned. I made it in time to sign up for the lyst, which was in a living dead format. Unfortunately, I was called to the field before I was completely armored. They were willing to wait for me, but that did not seem right. I asked who my opponent was, walked up to him, apologized, and yielded the bout. I told him since it was a living dead lyst, I would be honored to fight for him for the rest of the lyst. The last round, however, ended up with all the better squires on the other side. It was me, one older squire, and a bunch of newbies against a field of squires. I was hoping to win the fight for our team captain, but it was not to be. The day was a lot of fun none the less.
We went through a number of drills in prep for the war. I wish more folks had been able to make it out. The weather improved and it turned into a fairly nice day, all be it a bit chilly. After the "official" fighting was done, I picked up my shield and held the field against would be challengers. Yes, you read correctly, I picked up my shield. Donmnal and Santiago took up the challenge, and we fought a BUNCH. You'll have to watch out for those two. Those boys seem to be pretty hungry. I've fought them both in pick up fights for two weeks in a row.
Fitz made it out and I had a great conversation with him. He's a good guy.
I left there and met my lady over at Ambra's house, where we ate home made hamburgers and watched Kingdom of Heaven.
